VRATEPayout rates
What we pay, published up front
We pay 90–98% of the gold value in the items you send, depending on what they are. Your exact rate is quoted on the call and written on your offer, so you can check any figure we give you against it.

Some coins are worth more than their gold: early dates, scarce mints, exceptional condition. We check every coin for that before we make an offer, and if it is worth more as a coin than as metal, we tell you and we pay for the coin.
We do not publish a rate card. The rate for your category is quoted on the call and written on your offer, next to the spot price we used and the weight we measured, so you can check it against the sum above.
NOTE
Why rates differ
Recognised bullion can be resold as it is. Jewellery and scrap have to be refined first, and that costs money, proportionally more on low carat, because there is less gold to spread the cost across.
We buy gold only. We do not currently purchase silver, platinum or other precious metals.
